Buying a Used BMW? Bring it Here, First
When you’re buying a new car there a few steps that you need to take before making your final purchase, and even then, it’s hard to say if the purchase was a sound one. At North Bay Bavarian, we wanted our customers to feel safe and secure in their new BMWs, so as your BMW service specialists, we created a program that will help give you peace of mind before driving away with the title.
Finding the perfect BMW is kind of like a fun, game. While you set your budget first, the thrill of owning an ultimate driving machine doesn’t always have to come right off the factory floor. Used BMWs are simply loved a little more and can be great cars to buy if you aren’t quite ready to purchase a brand-new model, and because of this, checking to ensure your new car is in good working order is something that every used car buyer should be concerned with.
While many used car owners do thorough research, it is always best to bring your car into a certified BMW inspection to make sure that your purchase is a sound one.
North Bay Bavarian highly recommends having a BMW professionally inspected before purchasing any used BMW. An inspection can reveal unseen damages or warn against impending ones. This is not a free service, but it could save you hundreds or thousands of dollars if we find any issues with your potential purchase. With over 25 years of experience operating and modifying these vehicles, north Bay Bavarian’s professionals are adept at conducting inspections so that you can have peace of mind down the road.
A BMW inspection involves tapping into the car’s computer system (depending on how old the model is) and diagnosing any abnormal activity within the system. From there, we can physically examine the car with a trained eye.
We check the undercarriage of the car first. This involves checking the transmission for leaks, examining disk brake surfaces, power steering, and many other important moving parts under the car. From there, we move on to the engine compartment. We measure the coolant/antifreeze levels, check the air conditioner, and reset the service indicator. Next, we check the electrical components on the car. This includes a battery load test, instrument panel analysis, and all warning/indicator lights for functionality. Finally, we perform a BMW road test, which checks the brakes, suspension, steering, and transmission in a real-world setting.
The seller of a car isn’t always going to disclose sensitive information that could lessen its value. That’s why North Bay Bavarian is here to make sure you’re getting your money’s worth on a used BMW. With our pre-purchase inspection deal, you can get up to 3 BMWs inspected for the price of one – $135. If you do purchase the car, we’ll put the $135 charge towards your first North Bay Bavarian mechanical service. As a dealer alternative in Santa Rosa, we think this is a small price to pay for confidence in your used BMW purchase.
